Abstract: China has achieved remarkable development goals over the past three decades, primary associated with raising living standards for hundreds of millions of its citizens. Energy – especially coal – has helped fuel China’s economic rise. While environmental problems associated with energy choices are well documented, some of the successes are less well known. This talk will explore the Chinese energy scene and resultant environmental impacts.
